Americana fun (2025 edition)

Long-time readers of this blog know that one of my goals is to paddle a boat in every state of the United States of America.  The rules are simple: within the legal boundaries of a given state, I must be on a river, lake, or other body of water in a kayak or canoe, and take at least one paddle stroke.  Then I will have paddled in that state.

Before I put on the Colorado River at Lee's Ferry back on August 27, I had never paddled in the state of Arizona.  Now I have.  Boy, have I ever.  I can probably put together a list of ten states in which the combined number of paddle strokes I've taken is fewer than the number I took in the Grand Canyon in those sixteen days.

In summary, here's a list of the fifty states of this nation.  I have visited every one of them at least once.  I have marked with an asterisk (*) those states in which I have not paddled.  And there's now just one of them: Alaska.  The Last Frontier.
