This past weekend the Brooks Museum of Art here in Memphis showed several films by the late Canadian naturalist, canoeist, artist, and filmmaker Bill Mason. The scenes of tandem canoeists playing in whitewater reminded me of the canoeing I did at summer camp in North Carolina in the 1980s.
